Scope
This notice applies to LabelWatts at watts.woo-ki.com. It does not describe the practices of other services on woo-ki.com or its other subdomains. Hosting this notice on LabelWatts does not extend its scope to those services.
Calculator values
LabelWatts performs calculations in your browser. Raw calculator inputs stay in browser memory and are not placed in page addresses, cookies, local storage, session storage, analytics, application logs, or error reports. Resetting the calculator clears the input fields and hides the displayed estimate. Browser features may preserve page state after you leave the page.
LabelWatts has no accounts or server-side forms. LabelWatts does not receive the values you enter in the calculator. The site does not make live EIA API requests for electricity prices.
Static site delivery
AWS CloudFront delivers the static site from an Amazon S3 origin. As with any website request, your browser sends the requested path and the network and browser request information needed to return the page. AWS infrastructure technically processes those delivery requests.
LabelWatts does not add application request logs or client-side error reporting. This notice does not claim that every AWS infrastructure logging channel is disabled. AWS may process delivery information separately from the calculator values, which LabelWatts does not receive.
Cookies, measurement, and advertising
Manual Google advertising units
LabelWatts places one responsive manual Google AdSense unit after the complete calculator result, source, limitations, and disclosure region on /calculator/, and one after the substantive article content on each /guides/ page. Privacy, contact, policy, navigation, and error pages do not contain an advertising unit. Automatic ads are not enabled, and the calculator does not pass its input values to the advertising tag.
LabelWatts loads Google’s AdSense tag once per page to provide Google privacy messages and choices, including on pages without an ad unit. Loading that tag can contact Google before a choice is made; it is separate from requesting a manual advertisement. Manual ad requests wait for Google to provide the privacy-choice information needed by the site. Google handles the applicable European consent and US state opt-out signals and advertising restrictions. A refusal is not treated as a promise that every advertising-related process stops. Google may serve non-personalized or limited ads where supported and where the applicable configuration permits it. Non-personalized ads are not necessarily cookie-free: Google describes cookies used for frequency capping and aggregated reporting.[1][7]
If Google’s service fails to load or the required privacy-choice information is unavailable, LabelWatts does not request a manual ad. An empty, blocked, or unfilled unit does not hide the calculator or its controls. If privacy controls are unavailable, you can still use the calculator; try again later to access Google’s controls.
When Google advertising services are loaded, your browser may send Google information such as the page URL and IP address, and Google may set or read cookies. Google describes processing for advertising delivery and measurement, fraud and abuse prevention, and, depending on choices and settings, personalized advertising.[1] The participating ad technology providers and their applicable privacy choices are controlled by the Google AdSense and Privacy & Messaging configuration. Use the provider information in the Google privacy message, when available, to review the providers covered by that message and their privacy policies. Google also publishes the ad technology partner list, including its commonly used partner JSON. That general list is not a site-specific list and does not establish which providers are selected for LabelWatts.[5]
Privacy & Messaging choices
LabelWatts uses Google’s Privacy & Messaging service for advertising privacy choices. The Google-certified CMP and IAB TCF requirements for personalized ads in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland are described by Google.[2]
Look for these controls in the footer at the bottom of LabelWatts pages. They appear when the relevant Google service is ready:
- Privacy and cookie settings reopens Google’s privacy message so you can review your options, decline consent, or withdraw consent you previously gave. It appears after Google’s consent service is ready. If the service cannot load, this control may be unavailable.
- Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information opens Google’s opt-out confirmation dialog. It appears when Google’s service indicates that a supported US state regulation applies. Use it to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information covered by that message. Google communicates that choice through the IAB Global Privacy Protocol where supported.[4]
Choosing decline, withdrawing consent, or opting out changes the privacy-choice signal sent to Google; it does not by itself guarantee that no cookies are used, that all advertising-related processing stops, or that every participating provider stops processing immediately. You can revisit the available footer controls to change your choices.[3][4]
LabelWatts does not enable GA4 or any other site analytics. It does not store a LabelWatts consent record in local storage or session storage, and it does not dispatch calculator interaction events. Google’s own ad controls are available through Google Ad Settings; that Google setting does not replace changing consent on LabelWatts.
Email contact
The operator uses a personal Gmail inbox to read and respond to enquiries. Your email address and the information you send are used to handle your enquiry. The operator may use translation tools to understand message text; those tools may process the text provided to them. The operator does not plan to forward enquiries to other people. Once an enquiry is resolved, the operator deletes the enquiry emails from the contact mailbox. This does not mean immediate permanent deletion from Gmail trash, provider backups, or any translation service. Provider processing and retention depend on the services used.
Do not email electricity bills, customer numbers, home addresses, passwords, API keys, access keys, account credentials, payment information, or sensitive personal information. LabelWatts may ask only for the minimum information reasonably needed to identify and handle a privacy, rights, accessibility, or correction request.
